What Now?

I had a lower back spinal fusion in 1994. The results were great for 12 years. The area directly above the fused area has now herniated (this is normal since this area has taken 12 years of torque post fusion). I have pain in the area 24-7, the greatest debilitation being in the morning upon arising. It's actually crippling at this point and it takes 2 hours of exercise and self massage just to get ready for the day itself.

I have visited 3 of the best Dallas area spine surgeons with my latest MRI that clearly exhibits the herniation problem. They feel that my current level of activity is such that they cannot improve my situation. They would see me again if I loose feeling in my legs or control of my bowels and bladder. Surely there must be greater relief than my last 4 years and continuing outlook of this horrific pain. - Steven
